| | Gilbert Adams has been involved in the property industry since 1986 as Principal of a Real Estate Firm, Property Developer and in 1989 entered the Property Valuation profession. Gilbert also served on the Southern Branch of the Institute of Valuers and was appointed the first Chairman of the Black Valuers Association in 2003. Gilbert has been in private practise for approximately 23 years. As a professional valuer, Gilbert has valued most types of properties including a portion of Robben Island as well as several regional shopping centres throughout the country. Currently, Gilbert is registered as a Professional Valuer after completing his NDPV at Cape Tech (CPUT); he also completed a course in Auctioneering and Housing & Community Development course at the University of Cape Town. Gilbert is currently the Vice President of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Cape Town, Western Cape Alumni Chapter. | | |  Chris Gavor
| | Christopher joined the City of Cape Town Metro in 1992 and is now the Director: Valuations
Christopher obtained a BSc Honours degree in Land Economy from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Thereafter, he obtained a MSc in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Natal. In 1998, he obtained a Diploma in the Development and Management of Land and Cadastral Information Systems and obtained an MBA degree from the University of Cape Town in 2008.

| | Jerry Margolius is Registered Professional Valuer and is serving his second term as a Council Member. Jerry who has been practicing in valuations for more than 30 years and is also a qualified Arbitrator, Mediator and Umpire (valuation & rental disputes) as well as a Sectional Title Consultant. He was a Past President and is a Life member of the S A Institute of Valuers. As a valuer Jerry specialises in litigation support for specialised valuation matters including land restitution, expropriation, specialised properties etc. Jerry serves on various Committees and Task Teams for the Government, Provincial Administration & Local Authority. | | |  Vusi Ndlovu | | Hendrik Vusi Ndlovu is registered as a Professional Valuer . He has a National Diploma in Real Estate(Property Valuation), Certificate in Local Government and Development Administration, Certificate in Principles for First – Line Managers and currently studying Strategic Management at Unisa.
He aslo have been in the valuation profession for a period of | | |  Dumisani Nkomo | | Dumisani holds a BSc degree from the University of Botswana and an MBA from the University of the Witwatersrand. He is a former chairperson of the Estate Agents Affairs Board, the Limpopo Immigration Board, and the Gauteng Immigration Board. Dumisani also served as a member of the Black Management Forum’s Management Committee. After seven years at the South African Breweries, he formed Cutting Edge Consultants, a consulting firm, which specialises in Strategy development, scenario planning, organisation development, property management and brokerage. Dumi is currently the CEO of Cutting Edge, and a member of the Gauteng Development Tribunal. As a member of the Gauteng Development Tribunal, Dumi also chairs its sittings from time to time. He is passionately involved in promoting the development and sustenance of Small, Micro and Medium Enterprises. | | |  Werner Sarvari | | Werner holds a National Diploma: Property Valuation. He also has extensive accredited courses in: Municipal Management, Project Management and Property Tax. He has also been a valuer since 1993 (22years), worked in local authority environment, then to Financial Services sector and returned to local government in 2002 as Director: Valuation Services. Werner was regional valuer for Bankorp Property Services, First National Bank and Boland Bank, later National Head: Valuations for BoE Bank, based in Paarl. His experience includes the valuation of all types of properties, with specialisation in valuations for rating purposes, income producing properties, farms, filling stations and hotels. He has worked throughout South Africa and was exposed to all levels of management since 1989, starting as a junior manager of a sub-office at Bankorp Property Services and moving up to the position of Director: Valuation Services, where he managed 64 staff members and a budget of R 16 million per annum. Currently, Werner also acts as stretegic advisor to the Executive Director: Corporate Services and the MMC: Municipal Administration at the City of Johannesburg Municipality. He has been actively involved in education as a lecturer in Property Valuation II and III at the Cape Technikon for 5 years until 2001. Werner is a regular presenter at the Practical Workschool offered by the SA Institute of Valuer as well as at conferences, seminars and workshops. | | |  Matsobane Seota Registrar | | Matso is the registrar of the Council appointed on 01 May 2005. He holds a BCom from the University of Limpopo (alias Turfloop), a National Diploma in Real Estate: Property Valuation, a Certificate in Taxation, a BCom (Hons), all from UNISA, and an MBA from Boston College (USA). He worked in various industries, starting at a development corporation where he was assisting entrepreneurs with funding and other business establishment needs. Before being appointed executive for the corporation’s property division, Matso was its acting chief executive. He had a stint at Rank Xerox (SA) and at IBM (SA). He held positions of consultant in change management at Deloitte Consulting and Argil Consulting firms before being appointed the Council’s Registrar. Matso represented the Limpopo Province on the Black Management Forum’s management committee during the 90’s and was a member of the Manufacturing Development Board for the Department of Trade and Industry for over 10 years. He serves as a member of the Gauteng Commercial Tax Court. | | |  Marijke Serfontein | | Marijke holds the National Diploma Property Valuation from UNISA. She also holds a National Education Diploma. In 1988 she joined the valuation field and registered as a Associated Valuer in 1990. She worked for the Transvaal Council for Peri-Urban Areas and then moved to the City of Johannesburg in 1994 as a senior valuer and left as a valuation manager in 2002. Currently, she operates her own valuation firm which is based in Pretoria. Marijke has lectured on property valuation part time at the University of Pretoria from 2004 to 2006. From 2005 to 2009 she was the vice president of the SACPVP as well as chairperson of the Education Committee. She was re-elected for the next term and serves on the Education; Investigation and the Accreditation committees.
| | |  Portia Tau-Sekati | | Portia Tau-Sekati is currently the CEO of The Property Sector Charter Council, the organisation that is entrusted with assisting all the stakeholders of the property sector on their transformation journey as outlined in the Property Sector Charter. Prior to this role, she served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) National Association of Real Estate Agencies (NAREA), which she started and developed from scratch as a mandate from her board to form an organisation that will promotes and protects the interests of the residential property market.
Portia’s background is marketing and she was a Group Marketing Executive for Thebe Investment Corporation, Marketing Executive for Fresh Produce Market in Johannesburg, Sales and Marketing Manager for Roche Pharmaceutical. Portia started her career with Gillette Company in junior marketing position and progressed to the most senior marketing position. Her experience in marketing was enhanced by working in both South Africa and in USA (Boston –Gillette Global Head Office) as part of the team driving strategies for other Gillette global markets.
She has won numerous awards in most of the roles she served and serves in a number of boards and committees. She has been a speaker in a number of conferences in property sector and organisational transformation topics. | |
